When I saw this Marine standing outside a hospital room, I was confused, but once I realized why, I just couldn’t stop crying. This is so inspiring, you won’t want to miss it!
As it turns out, the Marine was guarding the room of one of his biggest admirers. Little Cody Green was only 22 months old when he was diagnosed with leukemia, but the brave little fighter never quit. If you asked him why he fought so hard, he would explain that he drew his inner strength and inspiration from our amazing men and women of service.
When little Cody’s health took a tragic turn, his heroes presented him with Marine navigator wings and officially named him an honorary member of the Corps. The Marines were so moved by Cody and his unwavering strength, they knew they had to do everything they could to honor him.
When one Marine received the news of Cody’s passing, he was compelled to stand guard and hold salute outside of his room for eight hours. This inspiring little boy’s story will move you to tears.
Thank you Marines, for honoring such a bold fighter. Our hearts go out to the entire Green family. We can’t imagine what they’re going through. It’s absolutely undeniable that Cody inspired hundreds with his bravery and big heart, we are just heartbroken over the news.
Sometimes, life doesn’t make sense and nothing seems fair. But we’re praying that God’s comfort and peace would surround the entire Green family. It’s no doubt that heaven gained a priceless little warrior and is a better place because of him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in the middle of this tremendous loss.
